Conservatives, Drag Queens, Gay Porn Stars, and Chippendales, Oh My!

Lubbock conservatives, what have you got to say now? You claim to be against gay rights, gay marriage, and pornography. Remember the city ordinance on Sexually Oriented Businesses? Arresting the Chippendales? (Even though doing so is against the constitution). Always jumping to defend and promote the likes of Bill O’Reilly, Ann Coulter and even Rush (waking the bear) Limbaugh. Ann Coulter went so far as to call John Edwards a “Faggot”. Isn’t that special? The conservatives should be so proud of her. But, the plot thickens. At the recent 2007 CPAC (Conservatives Political Action Conference), Corporal Matt Sanchez (a marine reservist and Columbia University student) was awarded the Jeane Kirkpatrick Academic Freedom Award for his outspoken stance on military bias at Columbia University. Congratulations Corporal Sanchez,or should I be congratulating Rod Majors (his stage name)? Did I forget to mention that he is a gay porn star? Now, don’t get me wrong, as a liberal I have nothing against gays or for that matter, porn stars, everyone should be allowed to exercise their First Amendment rights. But the irony is that the Right Wing movement that exploits anti-gay sentiment for political gain is embracing this individual. He was seen being congratulated by O’Reilly and Coulter both. Even had his picture taken with a gleaming Ann Coulter. (picture above) But come on, they trash and abash the gay community and construct ordinances to control or disallow pornography, then in the next breath pose for a photo opt with a porn star. Sweeeeeet! I bet this will drive Ann over the edge. So my question is: is he now the right wing poster child or just their token gay? This could be a major blow to the Republican Party; they can’t have it both ways, promote their anti gay agenda while at the same time embracing a gay porn star. Remember this is the same religious right that has done everything humanly possible to condemn homosexuality. Or maybe, just maybe this is a conspiracy by Mr. Sanchez himself, in order to promote his films. Once again, Ann Coulter has put her foot in her big mouth. But then when I look at the picture of her and Cpl Matt Sanchez, she could easily be mistaken for a not very attractive drag queen.
