I cannot understand how the citizens of the United States sit idly by and continue to allow this administration to rape the country. How can we be so naïve to believe this bunch of thieves have any other agenda than to grab power, bully other countries, and steal from us. I have never before witnessed this amount of corruption. Are we so caught up in our immediate lives that we cannot take the necessary steps to take our country back? These people work for us, not the other way around. We all should be demanding accountability for their actions, certainly not condoning it. Thomas Jefferson would be ashamed. When the government fears the people there is liberty; when the people fear the government there is tyranny. Thomas Jefferson. Those who study history are less likely to make the same mistakes as our ancestors. It is obvious Mr. Bush has never laid eyes on a history book. And he claims to be a patriot. Malcolm X once said: “You’re not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can’t face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or who says it.”
Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding. Who said that? Albert Einstein.
Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none. Thomas Jefferson.
Force cannot give right. Thomas Jefferson
Just to list a few good quotes that this president should read.
Interestingly, I used to work in an office of about 100 women, and three men. Before the 2000 election I was heckled repeatedly for not supporting George W. Bush. Finally, I asked these people why they intended to vote for him. I was astonished when over 90% of the women stated: Because my husband told me to, or because my husband is voting for him. Please….give me a break, have we been so conditioned that we have to be told who to vote for, can we (women) not make our own decisions? If that is true, why did Susan B. Anthony and the numerous others, devote their lives to assuring equal rights for women?
Shame on you Mr. Bush for:
Turning your back on Katrina victims.
Iraq War-3171 Americans killed, 23,417 wounded. Hundreds of contractors killed.
Abu Ghraib tortures
No WMDs
Global Warming
Pursuit of private profit and personal power
Disrespecting and disregarding our constitution
Ignoring our laws
Spying on Americans
Abandoning your duty to safeguard our health
Grimmest environmental record in history
Opposing and withdrawing from the Kyoto Protocol
Horrific conditions at Walter Reed
Acid rain that has poisoned our fish and jeopardizes the health of us all
Stealing both the 2000 and 2004 elections
Making a mockery of our electoral process
Manipulating the Supreme Court
Vacations during wartime
Claiming to be Pro-Life but supporting the death penalty
Not providing armor and the necessary equipment for our soldiers
Squandering world support after 9/11
Allowing Bin Laden to escape
Not admitting mistakes nor taking responsibility for errors
For saying “Bring it on”
Not firing Cheney after you said you would fire whoever leaked info about CIA operative
Condoning torture
Abusing the powers of the office
Not allowing the media to show our hero’s draped coffins coming home
Presidential seal M&Ms
Corporate cronyism
Guantanomo Bay
Tax cuts for the top 1% of the country
We need, as citizens of the most powerful country in the world, pull our heads out of the sand, open our eyes and fight to regain the respect we once had in this world. There are things each and every one of us can do. I cringe every time I hear the words “But what can one person do?” You can get off your butt’s and actually take steps to demand all three branches of our government to go back to work for us and not for the lobbyist that they have pledged allegiance to.
